Vivaldi, Queen of Hearts

(no subject)

This week has been a lot better than the last. Mom got out of the hospital on Tuesday, and things are pretty much back to normal now. She went back to work today, and she's been up and around since they let her out.

I went shopping with Rachel the other day. It was great to see her again, and even better because I bought new clothes. I even bought a skirt! (How crazy is that?). Let's see..there was the guy at Old Navy who looked like Toby MacGuire. I think I need to go back and see him again.

Today was hard though..I went over to Critt's, to see her a last time before she leaves for college in New Brunswick tomorrow. Christ, I'm going to miss her. We've been insperable since birth. From picking bouquets of poison ivy for her mom, to her arm getting stuck in the ornamental well, to the two of us climbing whiteface mountain together. We spent a lot of time reminiscing...and a little while laying on the trampoline, ducking from a pair of bats that were flying around. I helped her pack all her stuff in the van - It was odd to see her room so empty. It hasn't been like that since the day they moved there.

We went back to her grandma's tonight too. Critt and I spent our time there as young children, because her mom lived there while she was seperated from Critt's step-dad. We measured ourselves, penciling off our heights like we do every time we're back there. Just another thing to show how we've grown over the years, in more ways then one.

Gah, I'm starting to get all emotional again. I hate it. I felt like such a dork crying tonight, when I hugged her goodbye. I hate crying in front of people, but I just couldn't help it. I'm just really going to miss her.

Ah, I need to go make some tea, grab my print out of Scar Tissue, and go read in bed. (For those of you who didn't hear me tell the tale of my 101-page printing venture, I highly advise you to read Scar Tissue, by Amanda 02, on It's amazing.)
